St Vincent is located in the Southern Caribbean region which has a chain of 32 smaller islands known as the Grenadines.

The island is home to the oldest Botanical Gardens in the Western Hemisphere which was established in 1765.

Villa Beach is approximately 15 minutes’ drive from the Kingstown cruise port. There are no beaches within walking distance. The site is beautiful with white sands and a view of Young Island. It costs USD $1 for bus to this location from the city. Villa Beach is great for swimming and snorkeling.

1. Villa Beach

Situated 6km from the cruise port which is in the capital city of Kingstown, this is one of the most famous beaches in St Vincent.

It is white sand and shares its shoreline with many hotels on the island such as the Windjammer Landing Beach Resort.

Due to the volcanic nature of the island, many of its beaches are black sand. Villa is true a diamond as it is one of the few places on mainland St Vincent with white sand.

This beach is perfect for snorkeling and other water sporting activities. It offers excellent vistas of the surrounding region, making it an ideal location to visit for the day and unwind.

Additionally, from Villa beach you get an uninterrupted view of Young Island which is one of the smallest islands in the Grenadine chain.

How To Get To Villa Beach From The Cruise Port

Getting to Villa Beach from the cruise port is easy to do. There are two main methods of transportation which you can use which is the public bus system or private taxi.

When you arrive into St Vincent you will enter in the cruise ship terminal in Kingstown.

Exit the terminal and you will see Massy Supermarket on your left.

Get onto the public main road and you will see the National Insurance Scheme Building which is situated in Lower Kingstown.

Walk by this building and you will see Payless Shoe on the way to the Bus terminal.

Vincentians refer to the bus terminal as Tokyo so feel free to use this term to sound like the locals.

The route of the buses is listed on a sticker to the front on the right hand side. Pay close attention to this information.

The Villa bus route is a very popular one and getting a bus to this location is generally easy.

It costs USD$1 for the ride. Nevertheless, if you need to get back to the cruise ship before it departs, we strongly advise that you leave Villa Beach by 3pm to avoid the evening rush hour traffic.

Ensure that you stop at a junction opposite Rosewood Apartments to the left. You take the road on the ride and walk all the way down to the beach.

Taxis can be found at the marked taxi stands in the city. Vincentians are naturally warm and friendly and they will provide you with directions if you ask.

2. Indian Bay Beach

Indian Bay Beach is actually situated very near to Villa beach and you can catch the same bus route as indicated above to Villa Beach to get to Indian Bay.

It is also 6km from the cruise port terminal. The beautiful is usually quiet and calm and looks unto a small island with a cross on it.

There are toilets, changing rooms, snack bars and showers in case you are spending the day.

If you will like to complete some shopping the Joshua Centre is located about 10 minutes’ walk away.

There is a food court and many stores where you can get souvenirs and trinkets.

One of our favorite stores at the Joshua Centre is Fine Things which sells lovely home goods.

As a popular beach spot, expect there to be a crowd on weekends and public holidays.

3. Questelles Beach

Questelles Beach is 8km from the cruise port which is about twenty minutes’ drive away.

Generally, this location is still, calm and surrounded by breathtaking mountain views. It is perfect for swimming and snorkeling due to its clear waters.

This beach is often uncrowded and hence there is no amenities such as beach chair rentals and snack bar locations.

Therefore, it is ideal for persons looking for a private escape.

4. Brighton Beach

Brighton Beach is a cozy, stylish and a famous coast which is well loved by both locals and visitors alike.

This beach is located about 12 km from the cruise terminal and its warm water makes it perfect for swimming and snorkeling.

If you prefer a peaceful experience, it is best to avoid this location on public holidays and weekends.

There are sunbeds, sun loungers, a bar, and a cafe for the convenience of visitors.

5. Mt. Wynne Beach

One of the most breathtaking black sand beaches on the island is Mt Wynne Beach. It is 16km from the cruise ship terminal.

The beach is a fantastic spot to spend some hours resting and swimming in the stunning water and is home to a few of the finest snorkeling in Saint Vincent under the ridges at both ends of the beach.

Amenities include toilet and showers.

There are multiple trees which provides excellent shade and sand that is smooth for walking. For a unique beach experience, definitely visit Mt Wynne Beach.
